An error has been discovered in the calculations used in the SIG Community Profiles to report the percent of households receiving public assistance in 1999. The raw data available at the time of publication represented the number of persons who received Temporary Assistance to Needy Families (TANF) in 1999, NOT the number of households as reported. Therefore percent of households on public assistance could not be determined. The following chart displays the percent of the overall population receiving TANF in each of the SIG geographic areas:
