Partnering to Improve Children's Outcomes
Partnering to Improve Children's Outcomes is a federally funded project, with team members from the public and private sectors working together towards the state goal: All
of Hawai‘i's children will be safe, healthy, and ready to succeed in school.
The Partners Council consists of representatives from the Departments of
Education, Health, and Human Services; Hawai‘i Kids Count; Good Beginnings Alliance; the Center on
the Family; and the Governor's Policy Advisor on Children and Families. Through a unified effort, the team aims to:
- Identify a common set of indicators on the health, early childhood education, and care of children from birth to five years of age
- Establish a data-collection and reporting system on the common indicators
- Develop a mechanism for affecting social policy through the use of indicator-based data
The initiative is funded by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and is administered by the Hawai‘i Department of Health with the assistance of the University of Hawai‘i Center on the Family.
