Learning to Grow (LTG) is funded by the Hawai‘i Department of Human Services. It is a multi-faceted project that is grounded in the state's vision that
All of Hawai‘i's children will be safe, healthy, and ready to succeed in school.
Through its Family, Friend, and Neighbor Care Outreach Program, LTG provides statewide educational outreach services to families with children ages birth to 5 and their family, friend, or neighbor (license-exempt) child care providers. This program supports families and care providers in their efforts to provide care that enhances children's early learning, healthy development, and school-readiness.
LTG provides parents with information about child care options and the importance of the quality of the early learning environment through its Parent Consumer Education Program. The aim of this program is to support parents' informed decision making in choosing child care for their young children.
LTG provides training workshops for early childhood and family service professionals on various topics including Developmental Guidelines and Early Learning Activities for Infants, Toddlers, and Young Preschoolers; Raising a School-Ready Child; and Working with Families.
